Dreams Come True
AnitaSouthampton, NJ
Diagnosed with COPD
Anita came to Dream Foundation with a dream of independence. She needed the use of a walker as her physical condition had severely deteriorated. Her need was for a walker with wheels and a basket for her portable oxygen. We helped Anita realize her dream by providing her with a new walker with all of the “bells and whistles”. We also sent her funds to take her daughter Pat out to dinner to thank her for all she had done to care for her Mom throughout her debilitating illness.
NicholasMedford Lakes, NJ
Diagnosed with Heart Disease
Nicholas is a major sports fan and is particularly fond of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. His dream was to meet a player from the Phillies so that he could talk about baseball and his love of the team. With the help of the good people at Phillies headquarters, we were able to get former player Terry Harmon to visit Nicholas at his home. They spent the afternoon hanging out and watching Phillies videos and had a wonderful time together. Nicholas was thrilled to have had Mr. Harmon’s attention and his daughter told us that he could not stop talking about what an amazing experience he had on that special day.

LonaPemberton, NJ
Diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer
Lona lived with her family who had supported her throughout her life, especially during her battle with ovarian cancer. Her dream was to take them out to dinner at her favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden. She wanted to have a celebration of her life and thank her family for everything they had done for her. We sent her an Olive Garden gift card and money to purchase a brand new outfit so that she would feel extra special for her night on the town. Lona had a wonderful time and told us how important it was to make those memories for her family to have when she is gone.
Dolores
Atco, NJ
Diagnosed with Heart Disease
Dolores’ illness made it impossible for her to walk up and down stairs. She was confined to an upstairs bedroom and she was becoming upset and depressed because she could not interact with her family during the day. Her dream was to rent a lift chair so that she could move between the first and second floors of her house without having to climb the stairs. We helped offset the cost of renting the special chair and when we spoke to her after it was installed Dolores said, “You have no idea what a gift you have given me. I am now able to go where I want and share time with my family in our living room. Thank you so much for helping with my dream.”

Samuel and his wife were unable to take a vacation for their 50th wedding anniversary because their son had a stroke. Not very long after, Samuel was diagnosed with lung cancer and began treatment. Once he was told that his doctors could no longer help him Samuel contacted us with his dream of taking his wife to Disney World. He wanted to spend a week with his wife to celebrate the great life that they had together. With the assistance of our friends at Walt Disney World we were able to make Samuel’s dream come true.
